Let's say you want to make bookmarks two inches wide by 6 inches long
and have a picture at the top of them.
- Open a blank document in Word.
- Go to the table menu and select Insert>Table.
- Select 3 columns and 2 rows and a fixed
column width of 2".
- Then make sure your cursor is in
the top row of the table and go back to the table menu and select table
properties.
- Click on the row tab and set the height of
this row to 2".
- Then click in the second row and go
back to
table properties and set the row height for this row to be 4".
- Now, click inside one of the top
cells of the table and go to the Insert menu and select picture.
Choose
clipart if you want to use something from Microsoft or choose "from file"
if you have a pic on your hard drive or floppy you want to use (like
a logo or something).
- If the picture comes in too large (which
it probably will), select "picture properties" from the Picture Toolbar and
click on the size tab and set it to 2" X 2".
- Then just copy/paste this picture into the two cells beside it.
- Then move to the larger 4" tall section
at the bottom and add your text and, again, just copy/paste it
to the other two cells when you are done.
- Once you are done, all you need to
do is use a paper cutter to cut the
table into 3 bookmarks .... and use a high quality heavy paper so the bookmarks aren't too
flimsy.
