OFFICE ERASERS
- Something a
lot of people don't know is this: when you have a problem with Office and try to
reinstall it, this often does not fix your problem and the reason is that the
problem lies in your Windows registry and does not get fixed when you
reinstall. EVEN IF YOU UNINSTALL FIRST, THEN REINSTALL, THE PROBLEM
STAYS? Yep, I see that all the time too, and Microsoft knows it also, so
they've developed "erasers" which completely remove Office from your
system. Here are the links:

You
know how the Office 2000 programs all have those
icons on the left of the Save As and Open boxes
where you can click on My Documents or Desktop to
go to that folder? This is called the Places
Bar and Microsoft has a free add-in that you can
download
here
if you want to be able to customize the contents
of that bar. And, if you have Office XP/2003, you
don't even need the add-in.
Instructions to
customize the Places Bar in Office XP/2003 are right
here!
There's also a free utility you
can download that makes this even easier than using Microsoft's
add-in. Thanks for this suggestion, which came from "CausticCompliance".
Download it here.
All of Microsoft Office's programs can be tweaked with macros,
using VBA code. I'm no expert on this, but here's a link to a site where
you can get many sample codes ..... Code
