Born and raised in Utah,
I have had an interest in computer programming ever since I was about 12
years old when my father taught me the art of GW Basic. Ever
since then I've tried to program anything within my reach (although I
still struggle sometimes programming my VCR).
I'm still a student and
hope to be for a very long time. Of course, I won't take that long to
finish my BS degree, but I do plan on studying for the rest of my life.
There is so much to learn and so little time. |

I
have studied several programming languages, but my favorite so far is
Microsoft's Visual Basic. VBA, or Visual Basic for Applications, is a
subset of VB and has saved me countless hours of work.
Speaking of work, I
spend eight hours a day working on my hobby. If you can believe it, I
even get paid to do it. I spend most of my day administering databases
and creating macros with VBA for our department of thirty people. My
official title is Technician/Enabler, but with only 30 users, the
desktop support I provided is fairly easy. I'm glad for that, I would
much rather spend my time programming than repairing.
Anyway, I'm pleased
with the opportunity that this newsletter provides. If you have any
specific questions or topics you'd like to see discussed please email linda@personal-computer-tutor.com or myself, at chad@welchkins.com with "Idea for ABC" in the subject. |
